What is Botox®?

Botulinum toxin, often referred to as Botox, is a safe muscle relaxant currently used for a variety of medical problems. This anti-wrinkle treatment consists of injecting small doses of the relaxant into the targeted muscles (forehead, eyebrows, eyes). This relaxes the muscles, which softens expression wrinkles related to muscle movement. Moreover, it leaves the skin smoother overall and even reduces facial perspiration, leaving a more matte appearance.

What is Baby Botox®?

Baby Botox is a recent trend of using lower volume of Botox in the facial muscles in order to achieve a more natural, unfrozen look. It’s also great as a preventative measure against fine lines and wrinkles. If your facial lines are not too deep, you may find you are a candidate for Baby Botox.

Botox® Cosmetic – What to Expect

Botox anti-wrinkle treatments take just a few moments and require no anesthesia. The needles used are extremely fine and most people do not even feel the injections.

How Long Does Botox Last?

The effects appear during the week following the treatment and last for 3 to 4 months. However, after a certain number of treatments, an annual treatment will be sufficient, and the required dose becomes smaller. Over time, regular injections can definitely push back the arrival of static wrinkles.

How many units of Botox will I need?

It varies depending on the area and the person. Please consult the graphic below, or book a consultation to get an accurate estimate of the amount of units you will need.

Maintain Your Facial Expressiveness

A Botox treatment by an expert can smooth wrinkles and soften features without affecting your facial expressiveness. Our professionals are meticulous and have the experience and knowledge of facial anatomy required to administer the injection and achieve the desired results. Only the muscles under the wrinkles at the injection sites are relaxed, while the other facial components remain intact.

Lip Flip

A Botox “lip flip” procedure is an effective enhancement technique for the upper lip. The lip flip involves the injection of a few units of Botox along the upper lip muscle, which lifts the upper lip and makes more of it visible. This creates the appearance of a fuller lip without actually adding any volume via filler. We will often recommend the use of lip filler in conjunction with a lip flip in order to achieve your desired shape and volume.

Bunny Lines and Crow’s Feet

Bunny lines are facial lines that appear on either side of your nose when you wrinkle it. Crow’s feet are the fine lines and wrinkles that appear around your eyes. They are both caused by your facial muscles making the contractions over and over as you age, and can be aggravated by environmental factors like sun damage.

Botox is a standard solution for both bunny lines and crow’s feet. When the relaxant is injected into the muscles in these areas, it blocks the signals from your nervous system that tell them to contract. The result is a less wrinkled, younger-looking face.

Nefertiti Lift

The Nefertiti Lift refers to Botox injections in the lower part of the face, including jawline and neck, to achieve a more pronounced neckline. It is named after Nefertiti, the ancient Egyptian Queen who had a famously elegant, elongated neck. This non-invasive procedure is effective if you have folds or sagging skin in the lower part of the face or neck and wish to achieve a thinner, more symmetrical appearance in this area.

Botox for Nose

There are aesthetic principles that dictate an attractive nose. The tip should not be too pinched or too wide, and should round off without a hook. Also, the nostrils should not be too flared, and the base should angle away from the face on both sides in a symmetrical way.

Botox can help with all of these issues. When injected directly into the septi nasi depressor muscle in the nose, Botox can ease the downward pull and create a perkier nose appearance. It can also relax the muscles which pull laterally on the nostrils and cause flaring.  Also check out our dermal fillers as an option for nose.

Botox® Therapeutic

Botox® For Excessive Sweating

Another common treatment is for excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, which is the medical term for excessive sweating. Botox injections are injected directly into the areas that sweat excessively in an attempt to reduce signals by overacting nerves that lead to excessive sweating.

Studies have found that this works in about 80% to 90% of cases, and can reduce sweating for up to five months.

Botox® For Migraines

One of the most common non-cosmetic treatments  is for chronic headaches. By injecting tiny amounts of Botox into specific muscles in the back of the neck and head, the treatment allows to relax muscles and certain nerve tissues that often cause these headaches to occur in the first place.

What is the difference between Botox and Xeomin?

Both are injectables containing botulinum toxin type A, a neurotoxin that blocks neuromuscular signals to relax the targeted muscle. They are often used to target fine lines and wrinkles.
