More Girth, More Confidence — Without the Surgery

Here is the honest expectation. With ordinary hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, on average roughly half of the volume remains about one year after treatment — somewhat more in some men, somewhat less in others. This is why maintenance top-ups have always been part of a realistic plan.

Where our approach differs is longevity. Over many years and a high volume of these procedures, Dr. Bélanger has refined a method of performing girth augmentation that, in our clinical experience, lasts roughly three times longer than HA alone — using only products approved by Health Canada. The specifics of the technique remain in-house; what matters to you is the outcome: meaningfully greater longevity from a single treatment than standard filler provides.

To be clear, this is not the “PRP-in-filler” approach some clinics promote. That technique has no supporting studies and no sound physiological rationale, and in our hands it makes no measurable difference to how long a result lasts. Our longevity comes from method and experience.

The injection itself takes about 30–45 minutes. With numbing and aftercare, plan to be at the clinic for roughly 90–120 minutes.

Filler offers minimal downtime, immediate visible results, a lower risk of complications and implant migration, a quick and largely pain-free procedure, and a substantially lower cost than surgical augmentation.

Yes — one of the biggest advantages of hyaluronic acid is that it’s reversible. If needed, it can be broken down with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which makes HA the safest, most forgiving choice for this area.

Preferences vary, but the research that exists leans toward girth. In one widely cited survey, most women rated width as more important than length (Eisenman, BMC Women’s Health, 2001), and a later study in which women selected among 3D-printed models found a preference for above-average girth (Prause et al., PLOS ONE, 2015). The reason is likely mechanical: added thickness creates more contact and pressure along the vaginal wall, where many relevant nerve endings sit. In fairness, most women report being satisfied with their partner’s size, and connection and technique matter at least as much as dimensions — but where the evidence points, it points to girth. We focus on girth for two practical reasons: it is what the data support, and there is no safe, reliable way to add erect length.

HA filler gives an immediate result, but it also stimulates your own body to produce new collagen — a process called neocollagenesis — which leaves a degree of lasting tissue gain even after the gel itself is gone. The exact amount is hard to predict and varies between individuals, but many men consider a cumulative permanent gain in the range of 10–30% a realistic, satisfying outcome: you never return fully to your starting point.

At Inovo we use hyaluronic acid (HA) filler for penile girth augmentation. HA is the safest and most versatile option: it integrates naturally with your tissue, it’s biocompatible (HA is a substance your body already produces), and it’s reversible if an adjustment is ever needed. We deliberately avoid permanent and non-dissolvable fillers in this area because of the higher risk of nodules and the difficulty of correcting them. Within the HA category there’s a wide range of products that differ in particle size, concentration, longevity, viscosity and cost — we select the one best matched to your goals during your consultation.

Most men use roughly 8 to 20 ml, depending on their goals and current erect size. We aim for a result that looks proportional to the glans and natural overall. As a rough guide, an average-length penis gains about 10% in girth per 10 ml; for many patients a 1–3 cm increase in circumference (about ½ to 1 inch) is realistic and usually needs 8–20 ml.

Important considerations:

• Most patients should not exceed about 20 ml in place at one time; over-filling can stretch the skin and cause problems once the filler is absorbed.
• We recommend a gradual approach — start conservative and add later if desired. It’s easier and cheaper than dissolving excess.
• A smaller amount of high-quality filler beats a large amount of lower-quality product.

Make a circle with your thumb and index finger, then open them about an inch — notice how much bigger the circle becomes. On a penis, an inch of added girth is very significant. Most men measure about 4.0–5.25 inches in circumference when erect; gains of 0.5–1.0 inch are typical, and expecting 2–3 inches is unrealistic.

Despite what some marketing implies, average erect girth is about 5 inches; girth above 6 inches is exceptionally rare.
