Penis Enlargement in Ottawa

Does size really matter?  What is the average length and girth of a penis? Many clinical assessments are not entirely accurate due to a number of different reasons (e.g. standardization in measuring length, girth, and penile rigidity, etc.). Based on a meta-analysis of over thirty-years of clinical studies, proper patient expectations include:

  • The length of a flaccid penis varies considerably but the average is 3.5”.
  • The average length of an erect penis is 5.5” (only 1 in 30 men have >7”).
  • The average erect penile girth is 5.0”. There is little variance on the larger or smaller side of the average.

Despite the previous information, men and their partners often desire “more of everything”.

Are there real options to increase penis size?

For penile length, there is little if any option to truly increase one’s natural anatomy. Only by removing the fat from the mons area above the penis can one render unseen length. This procedure can only be accomplished by liposuction or the surgical removal of overhanging tissue. Surprisingly, this visual effect can also be accomplished by simply losing weight.

On the other hand, girth enhancement is now a real possibility with modern medical aesthetic techniques. One of the more popular procedures for penile augmentation is girth augmentation using dermal fillers, with a similar method as cheek augmentation or lip augmentation.

What are the advantages?

Penis enlargement using fillers has several advantages over the surgical operation with fat grafting, including:

  • No significant “down time.” Your penis will be wrapped for only 2 – 3 days
  • Little to no pain following the procedure
  • No risk of failure unlike fat grafts which can “fail to take”
  • Quick procedure – can be performed in the office in 45 minutes
  • Immediate results and you can decide during the procedure if more filler is required
  • Significantly less expensive

Penile girth augmentation with even a small amount of filler makes a significant difference to the appearance of the penis.  The procedure has very few risks and carries a high patient satisfaction rate.

How Does it Work?

Penile girth augmentation is performed using a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler. The filler is injected into the shaft of the penis (under the skin, not in the actual organ) to produce a marked increase in girth.  We use a blunt cannula and not needles for maximum safety and comfort.

This procedure is performed in the clinic in under 45 minutes using local anesthetic, and is relatively pain-free.

What Happens After the Treatment?

Following the procedure your penis will be wrapped with a soft pliable material for 2 to 3 days. You would then return for your follow-up visit to have the wrap removed and to review your early results. Any irregularities may then be gently compressed so as to redistribute and smooth out the filler.  You will need to refrain from masturbation or sexual intercourse for a minimum of 3 days but preferably 2 weeks following the procedure.

How long do the results last?

Let’s be direct, because much of what’s online is not. You’ll see filler brands and clinics claim that a single treatment of standard filler lasts three to six years. It does not — that figure is marketing, not medicine.

Here is the honest expectation. With ordinary hyaluronic acid (HA) filler, on average roughly half of the volume remains about one year after treatment — somewhat more in some men, somewhat less in others. This is why maintenance top-ups have always been part of a realistic plan.

Where our approach differs is longevity. Over many years and a high volume of these procedures, Dr. Bélanger has refined a method of performing girth augmentation that, in our clinical experience, lasts roughly three times longer than HA alone — using only products approved by Health Canada. The specifics of the technique remain in-house; what matters to you is the outcome: meaningfully greater longevity from a single treatment than standard filler provides.

To be clear, this is not the “PRP-in-filler” approach some clinics promote. That technique has no supporting studies and no sound physiological rationale, and in our hands it makes no measurable difference to how long a result lasts. Our longevity comes from method and experience.

At your consultation, we will give you a realistic expectation for your own anatomy — never an inflated number.

Beyond longevity, adding girth with dermal filler has real advantages over surgery — including cost, at about a third of a surgical augmentation, and the ability to add volume progressively over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can this also increase length?

Filler is meant to build girth rather than erect length, though the extra weight can let the flaccid penis hang lower and look longer at rest. A few other approaches exist for flaccid appearance — Scrotox to relax a tight scrotum, or stretching devices with consistent use — while surgical lengthening carries real risk and is mostly reserved for trauma cases. No pill or supplement has ever been proven to change size.

What exactly is penile girth filler?

It’s a minimally invasive treatment using a hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler — the same family of product used for facial and lip enhancement — placed under the skin of the shaft (never into the erectile body itself) to increase thickness. It costs a fraction of surgical augmentation, and volume can be added gradually over time as you choose.

How is the treatment performed?

The HA filler is introduced under the skin of the shaft using a blunt cannula rather than a needle, adding volume evenly to increase girth. It’s done under local anesthetic, takes roughly 30 minutes, and most men describe it as close to pain-free.

What results are realistic?

Most patients see a clear, immediate increase in girth and a fuller overall appearance, which for many translates into a meaningful confidence boost.

Does added girth improve my partner's pleasure?

Every couple is different, but many women report that greater girth provides more contact and stimulation along the vaginal wall, which can make orgasm more likely. Open communication about what your partner enjoys matters just as much as size.

I am embarrassed to even ask - will you judge my size?

Not at all. Men across the full range of sizes ask about girth enhancement, for reasons from pleasure to confidence, and every consultation is handled with complete discretion and respect. No judgment here — only helping you reach your goal safely.

Is everyone a candidate?

Most men are, but a consultation is required first so we can review your health, confirm the treatment suits you, and set realistic expectations together.

Is it safe?

Yes, when performed by a qualified physician. Using a blunt cannula instead of a needle markedly lowers the risk of complications, and HA has the added advantage of being dissolvable if ever needed.

Will it hurt?

Most men report little to no discomfort. The area is numbed with local anesthetic beforehand, which keeps the procedure comfortable throughout.

When can I get back to my normal routine?

Right away — you can return to everyday activities immediately after the treatment.

When can I resume sex?

We ask that you avoid intercourse and masturbation for at least 3 days so the filler can settle properly and the risk of complications stays low.

When will I see the final result?

Girth increases immediately, but the true final result shows once the early swelling settles and the filler integrates — usually within one to two weeks.

I am afraid of needles - is that a problem?

No. The treatment uses a blunt cannula rather than a needle, which both reduces discomfort and lowers risk. Combined with local anesthetic, the experience is far gentler than most people expect. Dr. Bélanger has performed well over a million injections across his career, so you’re in very experienced hands.

Will it affect my erections?

No. The filler sits under the skin, not within the erectile tissue, so it does not interfere with your ability to get or maintain an erection.

Can it cause lumps or irregularities?

There’s a small chance of a lump or unevenness, but because the filler lies just under the skin (not inside the organ), it’s straightforward to manage — we can add filler or, with HA, dissolve it using hyaluronidase to smooth things out.

What if I'm not happy with the result?

Expectations are set carefully during your consultation. We stand behind a meaningful increase in girth and will correct any irregularities that appear in the first several months. If you’re not satisfied, we’ll work with you on a plan to get you there.

What does it cost?

It depends on how much filler is used and your goals, but it remains far less expensive than surgical augmentation. Exact pricing is reviewed at your consultation.

What should I expect right after?

Some mild swelling, redness, or bruising around the area is normal and usually settles within a few days.

Is follow-up required?

No routine follow-up is needed — only if you have questions or concerns, in which case we’re available.

Who do I contact with questions?

In-Depth FAQ: Risks, Evidence & Filler Volumes

What are the risks of penile filler?

The main risks are infection, minor irregularities or lumps, and allergic reaction — all uncommon and manageable with proper aftercare and follow-up. Safety is built into how we inject: we use a blunt cannula rather than a needle, which effectively removes the risk of injecting filler into a blood vessel (the cause of the most serious complications, such as tissue necrosis). The result is a safer, more comfortable treatment.

How long does the appointment take?

The injection itself takes about 30–45 minutes. With numbing and aftercare, plan to be at the clinic for roughly 90–120 minutes.

Why choose filler over surgery?

Filler offers minimal downtime, immediate visible results, a lower risk of complications and implant migration, a quick and largely pain-free procedure, and a substantially lower cost than surgical augmentation.

Can the filler be removed if I change my mind?

Yes — one of the biggest advantages of hyaluronic acid is that it’s reversible. If needed, it can be broken down with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which makes HA the safest, most forgiving choice for this area.

Is length or girth more important?

Preferences vary, but the research that exists leans toward girth. In one widely cited survey, most women rated width as more important than length (Eisenman, BMC Women’s Health, 2001), and a later study in which women selected among 3D-printed models found a preference for above-average girth (Prause et al., PLOS ONE, 2015). The reason is likely mechanical: added thickness creates more contact and pressure along the vaginal wall, where many relevant nerve endings sit. In fairness, most women report being satisfied with their partner’s size, and connection and technique matter at least as much as dimensions — but where the evidence points, it points to girth. We focus on girth for two practical reasons: it is what the data support, and there is no safe, reliable way to add erect length.

Can HA give a permanent girth gain?

HA filler gives an immediate result, but it also stimulates your own body to produce new collagen — a process called neocollagenesis — which leaves a degree of lasting tissue gain even after the gel itself is gone. The exact amount is hard to predict and varies between individuals, but many men consider a cumulative permanent gain in the range of 10–30% a realistic, satisfying outcome: you never return fully to your starting point.

What type of filler do you use?

At Inovo we use hyaluronic acid (HA) filler for penile girth augmentation. HA is the safest and most versatile option: it integrates naturally with your tissue, it’s biocompatible (HA is a substance your body already produces), and it’s reversible if an adjustment is ever needed. We deliberately avoid permanent and non-dissolvable fillers in this area because of the higher risk of nodules and the difficulty of correcting them. Within the HA category there’s a wide range of products that differ in particle size, concentration, longevity, viscosity and cost — we select the one best matched to your goals during your consultation.

How much filler will I need?

Most men use roughly 8 to 20 ml, depending on their goals and current erect size. We aim for a result that looks proportional to the glans and natural overall. As a rough guide, an average-length penis gains about 10% in girth per 10 ml; for many patients a 1–3 cm increase in circumference (about ½ to 1 inch) is realistic and usually needs 8–20 ml.

Important considerations:

  • Most patients should not exceed about 20 ml in place at one time; over-filling can stretch the skin and cause problems once the filler is absorbed.
  • We recommend a gradual approach — start conservative and add later if desired. It’s easier and cheaper than dissolving excess.
  • A smaller amount of high-quality filler beats a large amount of lower-quality product.
What does a 1-inch gain actually look like?

Make a circle with your thumb and index finger, then open them about an inch — notice how much bigger the circle becomes. On a penis, an inch of added girth is very significant. Most men measure about 4.0–5.25 inches in circumference when erect; gains of 0.5–1.0 inch are typical, and expecting 2–3 inches is unrealistic.

What's an average erect girth?

Despite what some marketing implies, average erect girth is about 5 inches; girth above 6 inches is exceptionally rare.

Should I talk to my partner first?

If you’re in a long-term relationship, it’s worth a conversation — your partner may already be happy with your size. If a larger result is something you want for yourself, Inovo offers a safe, medically sound way to get there.
